A blinding white star...
A foolish illusion
to validate flash celebrity...
At the end of the day
when the grease paint
comes off
the mirror confirms
who we truly are...
Maybe we can deceive
the adoring crowd
for awhile
with this clown's facade
but when the spotlight fades
and the last song is played
the truth comes down hard
forcing us to face finally
this crushing reality
we share with all humanity
as we file out of the freak show
and into these dark streets...
