Genesis Ass Reboot

 

When the clouds rolled in

and dominated the sky
we thought nothing of it
since these solar obstructions
had always ridden

the prevailing breeze

and moved on in the past 

Now that we've achieved

this perpetual state 

of atmospheric stagnation

the sun has abandoned us

and taken a permanent vacation

The sky has become barren

like all formerly living vegetation

that once populated

the lush landscape we took for granted

Natural warmth and light

The source of all life

now has to be

artificially recreated

in massive packed bunkers

far beneath the Earth's

desolate frozen surface

Some of a scientific bent

long derided by the masses

as alarmist subversives

blamed centuries

of planetary abuse

as the root cause

of our man made catastrophe

At this point

of Humanity's depressed state

no one wanted to be lectured

by "told you so" professors

rubbing our collective faces

in the mess above we did make

So by popular decree

the Cult of Science

became the focal point of blame

and all the ministers of Climate Change

were rounded up in chains

Cast out and sentenced

to life imprisonment

on the tundra surface gulag

away from our now proclaimed
