That grinding reality you hear
is the device struggling to shift gears..

Confirming our worst fears
that the end of the mechanism is near..

And by association the termination of us..

Since we have been transformed
into a cog component
of the machine we created

If only self maintenance

had been taken more seriously

back when we were humming along smoothly...

If only there had been a fall back Plan B

for this day of break down catastrophe..

If only someone had been actually trained

to fix this machine we have become too dependent on

For you see, my soon to be defunct friends

complacency will always get you in the end

if you don't respect the laws of inevitability 

that has accelerated many an extinction event 

I guess Deniers of Bad Outcomes should be our epitaph

It's always the frickin zealots

wreaking havoc unrestrained 

on this once civilized domain..

These screaming extremists

will always be louder than

their true numbers represent..

Be they religious fanatics

subverting God's message

for their hatred agenda 

or political radicals

with their us versus them

scorched Earth combat politics..

Let's drive these fringe elements

back to the outer shadows...

Reinstate sensible moderates

and let the healing process commence

of a world without rules
made by hypocritical fools
who suppress natural urges...

Order is the poison drip to freedom...

Is it any wonder our miserable species

is so obsessed with psychoanalysis?

Searching for the source of our discontent

staring back at us in the mirror..

Once our quest for self enlightenment

crashes and burns into inevitable disillusionment

this rant is semi tongue in cheek

as it positively reeks

of being yet another

impractical cancel action

against current positions

we don't happen to agree with

but I am now officially

an hour ahead of you
