Strategic Retreating

 

Such were the depths
of their endless contention
the combatants could not even agree
on the battle lines location
or weapons of choice

For this was a war
he could not possibly win
cause he fought by conventional
rules of engagement means
while his feminine adversary
was not hampered 
by such civilized restrictions

He simply lacked
the necessary 
offensive or defensive verbal weaponry
or the killer instinct capacity
that his skilled opponent
brought to the fray

So the prudent man
chose to yield the field
and live to die another day
