Every Day is Mother's Day

 

In this womb existence
our very first sensation
is the warmth we feel
with a body we share

Floating safely
in this shared universe
with a benevolent force
to the soothing rhythm
of a heartbeat symphony

Every mammal's origin
of a life eventually to be
tethered and dependent
to mommy's body
during her period of gestation

This primal love connection
is hard wired in our psyches
for the duration of our mortal lives

The maternal bond can be stretched
and even frayed severely
but kid yourselves not
deep down it remains
in the bosom of our core biology
