We are
the dispirited Nocturnal Crew

Faintly glowing apparitions 
wandering through
the foggy corridors
of expansive time

Desperate ghosts are we

Abandoned by our society

Condemned to searching
in vain for the light
denied us in the afterlife

 
Forever chasing rainbows at night

Our tribe traverses the Earth
and dreams
of finding a sliver of peace
we never found
when we were still
solidly organic
