Gender Benders

 

All these role playing
slotted expectations
passed down
through increasingly psychotic
messed up generations
is starting to take it's toll

We gotta redefine
what macho is
and while
we're at it
let's revisit
girly labels too

These archaic gender
definitions
long ago outlived
their usefulness
cause currently
both stereotypes
are no longer relevant

or even stable

I get seasick

from all this fluidity

Perhaps
as roles blur
we can merge
the best
of him/her worlds
and upgrade the species? 

Men can still be men
but maybe not so much
if we can just drop
the neanderthal baggage

Turn up the sensitivity

Women can still be feminine
but maybe dispose of some vanity
along with their massive
cosmetic case

Stop fighting time and gravity

Maybe we can then
all be comfortable
in our own refurbished
streamlined skins
and learn
to play nice
