Worst in Show

 

At our daily bitch session
in the battle for attention
I took the contrarian position
when our self pity party
devolved into it's usual pointless
boo hoo competition

Rather than playing can you top this
in the side by side
my life is worse than yours 
comparison stink test
I chose the more noble option
of counting my blessings
[meager as they may seem]
and thinking of those souls
truly less fortunate instead

Of course my altruistic plea
got my saint wanna be
ass booted off Selfish Island
by the Woe is Me inhabitants
who had zero interest
in the betterment
of the human condition
