The gloom is a relentless
hue of seasonal gray
as the Arctic winds
sweep down over Harbor Bay
creating a chilled salty mist
that showers those of us
who dare venture out
into these cruel elements
The artificial intelligence
in my pocket
shares an interesting tidbit
(at least to me)
that the solar solstice
just came and went
in a blink of an eye
just came and went
in a blink of an eye
The position of the sun in the sky
remains perceptibly unchanged
Yet a critical cosmic shift
has subtly occurred
as daylight commences
it's long march back
toward dominance
to yet again reclaim the sky
from stubborn darkness
You cling to any shred
of thermal hope
when you can't feel your frickin toes
