Label Breakers

 

I came to this forbidden place
especially to rip away
the dire famous disclaimer
designed specifically
as a loyalty test
to forever deter rebels like me
from doing life naturally

Institutional rules and regulations
stamped on our foreheads at birth
right after they slap us in the ass

Inhibitors of behavior deemed deviant
wielded by the heavy handed
bastards of repression

Authoritarians Hell bent 
on squashing self expression
that runs contrary
to the uni thought collective

These enemies of creativity
flowing from human curiosity
only fuels pockets of non conformity
to their fascist dictates
that they must suppress

So we contrarians knowingly charge
into the obvious entrapment
set by the determined authorities
to snare us wanna be martyrs

Although the path of insurgency
can be a painful trip
we do ride with high quality company
cause Jesus was a rebel too
who tugged on the label of the Pharisees
