Snow Globe Dreaming

 

Why am I standing here
knee deep in snow
with a plastic shovel
I bought in a panic
cause I was not prepared
for the Winter storm
widely forecast

on multiple outlets?

Of course

the kids on sleds knew
as they always seem to do
about any potential
school closing events

of academic liberation

Oh how I wish
I could switch
with these bundled cherubs

and get to cherish

the unbridled joy

of a snow day at play
