Light Torture

 

Mesmerized by the garish sky

That crimson sunrise does hypnotize

A Nature based paralysis
dispensed after an evening
of dimly lit lunar debauchery

Morning after visual sensitivity

is our painful penance
as these blood shot eyes
struggle with the transition
to the tyranny of extreme brightness

inflicted by our solar conscience

as faith based punishment

for the sin of being faithful

to our natural bodily urges
