and the true heroes
who voluntarily
charge in
to stand in harms way

We want so badly
to elevate
and celebrate
those who perish sadly

even when undeserved
and over the top

Maybe we identify
more with the victims
than the true heroes 

Good perspective
so hard to find
these days
