Take the Pain





Take the Pain
You and me

have way too much
damn empathy

the curse of
excessive sympathy

 bleeding hearts be we 

 always lending an ear

 a shoulder to cry on

 the pain of the world
can be too much to bear

 Maybe

we need to erect
a protective wall

 to insulate
ourselves from it all

 The stone cold heart
feels no hurt

but


it never loves either

 All the same

 I'd rather be alive in pain

 than comfortably dead

    Good job! I wanted to build protective wall, but I haven't succeeded, maybe you are right, maybe it is better to live in pain, than not to feel alive.

    there isn't a single soul out there who isn't in pain, and living through it, there is something we gain; and that is different individually.
