Culture Clubbing
The man
once in demand
so much a major
celebrity
flavor of the month
as deemed by
tabloid society
fell from grace
in the blink of an eye
we all saw the
demise coming
said the spider
to the fly
so it goes
so it goes
fame is fleeting
in our microwave
menagerie
so it goes
NEXT VICTIM

Love it. Especially with "Next victim" capitalised at the end.
ReplyDeleteand I love the alliteration in 'fame is fleeting'.
I just love this piece in its entirety.
*thumbs up*
Nada,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feedback.. I love your blog and your honest critiques of other writers..
I pretty new at this and I'm trying to learn this writing thing on the fly so I really appreciate
your assessment
When I read Miley's name, all I see is that ridiculous "twerking" and that tongue. Stick it back in your head, girl!
ReplyDeleteI confess to not being well versed in Cyrus, but I feel kind of bad for her. She was prepackaged and marketed like a plastic doll by Disney when she was child. Now she has broken free of that fake image and is rebelling like many young repressed girls do when they get a taste of freedom. In college I saw (and benefited) from many a young lassie who was went crazy after escaping restrictive Catholic school education.
ReplyDeleteThe whole virtuously packaged teen star girls gone wild does seem like a recurring theme.
That's why I closed the poem with NEXT VICTIM
