As I get older I find
I gotta constantly raise
the volume button.. 

Straining to hear
diminishing praise
fading in the distance..

Taking refuge in the silence
and the age old solace
of never hearing 
what I don't wanna believe

or saw the humor

that our warped brand of comedy
was mutually inclusive..

when you forget how to have fun

Bright is the light
the nearer we get to TRUTH...

It can illuminate the way
or incinerate our eyes...

A double edged laser sword 
this T word..

Respect it's consequence
and oft dangerous application...

So know your truths before entering

crawling on a blank
flat screen canvas
is an insect lost..

If you splatter it
and smear it's remains
across the clean slate

the mess will give birth

to a fresh annoyance..

Though you did create
a work of modern art

that the subject model
will never appreciate

Plunger Crew

So many corporate fools
we must work around
in our daily trek
toward blissful retirement..

Grinding away
with our plastered smiles
as we struggle
to shovel through
the task force storm  
dropping bullshit from above
courtesy of the very same fools
who make the rules
that clog our existence

We who turn the wheel

and run the machines

will figure out

practical work arounds

for the edicts issued

by the pompous boobs

who know not all we do

to create the polished product

that they will take full credit for

Into I stepped
the cracked façade
of our daily decay...

Tears of frustration
permeate these potholes
we navigate every day...

Twisted my ankle

cause I misjudged the depth
of the canyon
whose bottom I could not see..

Now I lay here writhing in agony
as indifferent travelers step over me

Faith Bait

 

The angel
I have religiously avoided
on misguided principle
gave skeptical me
a beautiful set of wings..

Included was an invitation
to rise above my somber situation
and fly with her heavenly flock..

I took her up on the pious offer
and am a non believer no more
