Speed Bump and Grind

Speed Bump and Grind

Spinning in space
in our designated slots

time frame assigned

we keep to the race

our transient existence
hangs over us all

background noise
we choose not to hear

we of the now generation

always demanding

instant gratification

immediate satisfactions

microwave relationships

speed dial loving

pop up thermometers

wrapped in cellophane

we consume mass quantities

but

we never savor the flavor

no time for reflection

inside our turbo lives

overwhelmed by fate

we can't accelerate

our story revealed
at it's own pace

spinning threads
in the tapestry
of human history

  1. So true, Steve. And the faster life gets, the less we seem to be content.
