In the darkness
of the night

lies the truth
out of sight

keep the switch
flipped off

we need
embrace

shielding us

from ugly
truth we 
choose
not  to face

Denial is not a vice

tis a reliably
time honored device

to be mentally healthy

naturally sedated

darkly medicated

pupils dilated

Serene avoidance

comatose existence

in the darkness of us all
