Here 
in Monogamy Land

we are only
allowed
one at a time

traditional
unconditional
dictator

of conventional
morality

if you dare
break 
monogamy rules

dramatic tragedy
ensues

tears will be shed

word bombs lobbed

pain and regret
wrapped in guilt

but  I ask you

why should
our hearts 
be restricted?

can we not
love more
than one
at a time?

with differing
intensities?
