Social Contract
Monotony is boring,
Monogamy is too
And don’t roll your eyes at me!
Because you know that it’s true
Of course YOU are the exception
(Now I’m the one rolling my eyes)
Not that we follow our straying impulse
This life of ours is one big compromise
A string of necessary concessions
The individual needs to make
In order to function in society
We all play the game of give and take
Several lines in this piece had me "lolling" (lol several times).
